What is Sacred Space?

sacred space can be any where one can feel secure and at ease both spirtually and mantally. it also usually has a sort of axis mundi, connecting both the underworld and heavens to the earth. a church for example, where christians worship christ, encourages people to gain a stronger relationship with the lord, by praising and worshiping him. sacred space can be used as a connection point, between chaos, and cosmos. Anne Elliot, explains in her blog in high beam.com, "it is a special place where you can go to meditate and be still". All religions and followers have different ways of worship towards their God, like; singing, praying or saraficing. the study of religions is the same but also different, for example; some christians may choose to study and praise christ from singing and listening to sermans at church. but many choose to read from verses in the bible, which tell of christs life on earth. it does not matter how you choose to worship or study a religion, but rather who you do it with. people often spend time in a sacred space with either family, close friends or by themselves. a leader of the ceramony of worship is very important. it is often a head leader like a pope, bishop or reveren who conducts the service, leading all into worship, one to read out from a scripture, or to start prayer. after life and sacred space usually interact together. as the space itself, usually is a connection point, a axis mundi, a place connecting the cosmos to the chaos. which is why decised people are often buried around sacred space, believed it will help the get to their afterlife for judgement.
